Following the previous lecture last January 14, 2016, the Philippine-China Relation Lecture Series proceeded with the second resource speaker, Professor Aurora Roxas-Lim, Ph.D. last February 4, 2016 at the Chiang Kai Shek College Auditorium. The Grade 11 Senior High students, as well as the CKS Narra Campus students and teachers, served as her audience. The distinguished guest speaker who was apparently a professor of the College President, Dr. Dory Poa, discussed China’s Vision of the New Silk Route and its implications on Philippine-China Relations. Major on the Asian Studies Program of UP Diliman, Dr. Lim highlighted how trade and commerce was a vital motive force in economic, social, and cultural development, and how the trading industry inclined the economies of most countries and cities up to date. She also discussed the implications of China’s Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the advantages of how China sees new possible trade routes that could benefit the world. This lecture was only one of many more educational lectures to come, lectures that prove useful in promoting a positive outlook on Philippine-China relations.
