FBAS Outstanding Performance in the CPA, Teacher, and Nursing Board Examinations

Jan Marcus Ang Tang, a 2009 Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) graduate recently landed second place in the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Licensure Examination conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) last May 2010. 1,886 out of 4,772, or 39.52% passed the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Licensure Examination given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi. The Faculty of Business, Arts, and Sciences scored 60% in the said exam.

In Nursing, the Professional Regulations Commission-Educational Statistics Task Force ranked the FBAS School of Nursing 10th in the Range 3 (10-99 takers) of the 2009 Nursing Licensure Examination with 51.61% passing rate as compared to the national passing rate of 40.70%. Other colleges and universities in the Top Ten (same bracket with CKSC) include: UP-Manila, Saint Paul University-Q.C., City College of Manila, and Lyceum of the Philippines-Manila.

And last but not the least, our school scored 100% passing rate in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) as compared to the national passing rate of 15.44% for elementary teachers and 23.32% for secondary teachers. The result of the LET exam, which was held in Manila and all regional offices on April 18, 2010 has been released by the PRC. 4,835 elementary teachers out of 31,306 examinees (15.44%) and 6,483 secondary teachers out of 27,802 examinees (23.32%) successfully passed the LET Examination in 13 testing centers all over the Philippines and Hong Kong.
