High School Students Figured Prominently in Various Inter-School Contests

Henry Jefferson Morco, a 3rd year student, landed Second Place in the 13th Philippine Math Olympiad (PMO) Finals last January 22, 2011 . This was held at the UP and Ateneo campuses. This prestigious contest was organized by the DOST-SEI and MSP. Henry, together with Rhys Jansen Pavon, a senior high student, competed in BIOWARS sponsored by the UST Biological Society last January 31. The two emerged as Champions in the said contest and won a trophy, certificates, and P2,500.

In the 8th National Science Quest organized by the Association of Science Education in the Philippines (ASEP). Henry and Rhys again represented our school and got the Championship in Chemistry and Physics.

The contest was held last February 2 to 4, 2011 at the Pedro Guevarra Memorial National High School in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
On February 7, Rhys Jansen Pavon, Geovin Dexter Uy, and Eric Lance Astillero, all senior high school students, competed in Adamson University’s 1st Adamson National Quiz Show and were declared Champions. The students won P10,000, full scholarship for one semester, and gold medals for each of the student. The trainers of these various contests are: Mr. Frederick Buiza and Mrs. Armi Mogro for Math, Mrs. Cristina Monsanto for Biology, Mrs. Venus Marie Llantada for Chemistry, and Mrs. Cynthia Yap for Physics.

Three high school students, namely: Lynette Chung of IV-1, Angelie Dayanara Lim of IV-3, and Lynelle Delmo of II-2, joined the A Million Acts of Green Art Pentel Oil Pastel Contest sponsored by CBS, Inc., Pentel, and Sterling Paper Company last November 25, 2010 and emerged as Champion. Their trainer was Ms. Zenaida Borja. Lynette also competed in the On-The-Spot Painting Contest (Regional Level - NCR) sponsored by the Phil. Heart Association in collaboration with Therapharma last January 22, 2011 and was declared 1st Place Winner. Ms. Borja was also her trainer.
