Grade School Department Student Achievers at the End of the First Semester

Internationally, Clyde Wesley Ang of 6-G and Terrence Brian Tsai of 6-A won numerous gold, silver, and bronze medals in the Asia-Pacific Mathematical Olympiad for Primary Schools held in Singapore last May, the Po Leung Kuk Primary World Mathematics Competition in Hong Kong last July, the International Mathematics Competition held in Singapore last July-August, and the 8th International Math & Science Olympiad held in Naga City last September; Kyla Yasmeen Ong of 3-G also won First and Second Place Slots in the Modern Dance, Demi Character, and Classical Ballet (All Team Division) in the 13th Asia Pacific Dance Competition held in Bangkok, Thailand last July.

Locally, the grade schoolers have shone in various subjects. Jefferson Chua of 6-A won Second Place in the 2011 Children’s Art Contest sponsored by Manila Downtown YMCA; He and Erika Chan of 6-A also won First and Third Places respectively in the Paskilan na may Haiku sponsored by the Malayan High School; Gabriel Nicholas Minamedez and Alliah Rae Plaza of 5-G, and Chelsey Jessamae Ng of 5-D won Second Place in the Balagtasan 2011 also sponsored by the Malayan High School; Chelsy Joyce Ang of 6-A and Angel Christine Zheng both won many Gold Medals in different forms of skating in the recently concluded Skate Manila Ice Skating Rink held at SM Mall of Asia last October 3 to 5; Clyde Wesley Ang, Erika Chan, and Trisha Huang of 5-B won Third Place in the Inter-school Science Contest called “Bright Sparks of the Mind Season 6” sponsored by the Aguinaldo International School; and Clyde Wesley Ang was the Top Scorer in the “Little Math Wizard” contest organized by U.P.-Diliman.

At the start of the second semester, the department heads, subject area coordinators, and class advisers are all busy again continuously training the students in their respective areas of interest with the hope of bringing more honor and glory to the school.
