On November 18, 2011, the Lady Dragons, the High School Girls' Basketball Team, won the Palarong Maynila High School Basketball Tournament organized by the Department of Education against selected students of the Division of City Schools team. The game was held at Chiang Kai Shek College.
The following month, on December 10, 2011, the Lady Dragons and High School Boy Aspirants (14 years and below) won back-to-back championships in the basketball tournament organized by the Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) held at CKSC. The CKSC Lady Dragons beat St. Jude Catholic School, while the Aspirants won over St. Stephen's High School team. This event was participated in by around ten Chinese-Filipino schools.
On February 16, at the Tiong Lian Basketball Final Games, the Boy Aspirants (14 years and under) under the superb play-offs of John Vincent Gallego, Frank Yu, and Maverick Chua, to name a few snatched the championship from the determined efforts of Xavier School's Junior Stallions to pull off an exciting 82-72 win in the do-or-die final match at UNO High School. This win ended the Aspirants' string of runner-up finishes to the cagers of Xavier who had lorded over the tournament for nine straight years.
On the same date, the CKSC Lady Dragons also took the Championship crown by defeating St. Jude Catholic School in a final score of 71-54. The all-around performance of Benette Revillosa, Madel Castro, and Reivina Tadefa and the defense provided by Rencie Espino, the team captain led to the team's victory. The Metro Manila Tiong Lain Basketball Tournament is one of the most exciting and biggest high school tournaments in the country.
The next day, February 17, the high school boy scouts team Blazing Dragons won for the seventh time the Basketball Crown in the Baden Powell Cup Basketball Tournament against Elyseum Christian School of Quezon City. This event was held at the CKSC Main Campus Gym. This tournament, which was started in 2006, has seen the valiant boy scouts of our school holding the championship crown for the past seven years. Mark Steven Wu was named Most Valuable Player, with Gregory Patrick Licaros and team captain Marc Neil Katigbak making it to the Mythical Five. All three students are CKSC high school senior students.
In another event on February 18, the high school girls' volleyball team won the championship match against Jesus is Lord College Foundation in a hotly-contested game sponsored by the FEU Invitational volleyball tournament. this exciting game was held at the FEU Gym in Manila. the Most Valuable Player Award was given to Catherine Gonzaga, while Mellisa Rino, Mara Banares, and Christine Quinanola were able to enter the Mythical Six. All of them are CKSC high school freshmen.
Finally, on February 23, the Junior Blue Dragons of the High School Boys Baketball Team were declared champions after their second win over seasoned Hope Christian High School in the best-of-three title series. This much contested Tiong Lian tournament was held at UNO High School Gym, witnessing the completion of CKSC's three-crown sweep: Aspirants, Girls Division and Juniors. CKSC is the very first Filipino-Chinese school to achieve that glory in the history of the 42-year old Tiong Lian Basketball Assoication. In a game marked by resiliency, stubbornness, and never-say-die attitude, all the players provided excellent teamwork to clinch the win. John Paul Nieles was able to make it to the Mythical Seven. Other players who contributed greatly to the winning moment included John Kevin Baytan and Wilson Bartolome, among others.
As a fitting tribute for such remarkable achievements, CKSC held a Bonfire Victory Party at the Main Campus Quadrangle on February 27 (Monday) from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. It was participated in by the entire CKSC population that includes loyal alumni and supporters. Students and teachers came wearing blue (school color) t-shirts. Classes in all levels were called off on February 28, 2012 (Tuesday).
