Important Activites in Celebration of the School's 70th Foundation Anniversary

In celebration of Chiang Kai Shek College 70th Foundation Anniversary this year, the school, in coordination with the alumni association, has prepared a series of activities. The theme for this year is “Soaring High @ 70”.

From October 16 to 18, there will be a fair, “Octobliss@70” at the quadrangle of the main campus. The fair is opened to the public from 8 am to 4:30 p.m. and will feature rides such as octopus, caterpillar, dinosaur, lantern wheel, bahay ng maligno, emperor slide, and lots of parlor games. Entrance fee is free.

From October 22 to 24, the CKSC Alumni Association and the student will present two exhibits simultaneously. The CKSC Alumni Association will feature a trade fair wherein alumni with businesses can display their products and services in selected classrooms with discounts to the public. Some of the companies who expressed intent to join are PCExpress, Ainon Baby Products, Oishi, etc. The students from kindergarten, grade school, and high school departments will display their scientific, literary, and artistic talents in the form of projects, written works, calligraphy, science modules, charts, maps, etc. The exhibits are open to the public.

On October 24 (Saturday), CKSC Class of 1949, 59, and 84 will be having their diamond, golden, and silver anniversary homecoming at the auditorium. The school has prepared a special cultural presentation for the alumni featuring Chinese and Filipino folk dances and songs, choir and piano rendition, dialogue, etc. Selected students are required to watch the morning and afternoon program. Interested parents and students are also invited.

On October 25 (Sunday), the Board of Trustees, the administration, and the alumni association have jointly organized a Lakad-Masa, a fun and healthy walk estimated to have 10,000 participants. It will start promptly at 5:30 a.m at the main campus and proceed to Lawton, then to Quirino Grandstand where they will be joined by Grade 5 to high school students, then to Roxas Boulevard, Quirino Avenue, and finally at Rizal Memorial Track Oval where a program proper will be held at 8:00 a.m. The program will have the following: (1). 400 pupils from the kindergarten department doing an aerobic exercise, (2). Grade Five and Six students will perform a mass demonstration of wushu, (3). all high school students, first and second year college students, and the grade school and high school teachers of English Instruction will dance to the tune of “Nobody”. Mayor Alfredo Lim of the City of Manila is the keynote speaker.

Lastly, the Foundation Day will be celebrated on October 30 (Friday) at the Auditorium. Teachers and non-teaching personnel who have rendered services to the school for 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years will be given recognition. Teaching and non-teaching personnel will be given cash incentives as the school’s way of showing appreciation to the efforts of the personnel.
