As a show of patriotism and love for our country, CKSC students and alumni joined programs held in celebration of the 115th Philippine Independence Day and 12th Philippine China Friendship Day during the month of June.

CKSC alumni Dorenett Yu, Ann Abigail Garza, and Raenelle Ean Ngo, students Mary Grace Khu, I Trista Veloso, Kristy Ang, and Candy Joy Chua all sang during the Independence Day program organized by the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Incorporated at the Manila Hotel last June 10. Not to be outdone was the CKSC Filipino Folk Dance Troupe which gave their rendition of "Jota Paragua".

The Filipino Folk Dance Troupe, together with their Chinese Dance Troupe counterpart, also performed on the occasion of the 12th Philippine China Friendship Day program conducted by the Filipino Chinese Business Club last June 8 at the Lucky Chinatown Mall in Binondo, Manila. Aside from many lively presentations, a salient feature of the program was the flag exchange program between Filipino students from public schools and Chinese-Filipino students, where CKSC was represented by its boy and girl scouts. This ritual symbolizes the long friendly ties between the Philippines and China.

CKSC scouts also attended the simultaneous flag raising rites on the actual day of Philippine Independence last June 12 at Rizal Park, Luneta and Manila North Cemetery.
