The newly-elected officers of the Student Executive Council (SEC) and other student organizations in the Faculty of Business, Arts, and Sciences (FBAS) were officially sworn into office last July 1 in a program held at the 7th floor of the CKSC Narra Campus.
Senior Vice President Mrs Carmelita Espino delivered an inspirational message focused on the duties, responsibilities, and traits of a good leader. She reminded the officers to be good role models to their fellow CKSians.
The Vice President inducted into office the fifteen (15) Student Council officers and student leaders from ten (10) co-curricular organizations, namely Computer Society (COMSOC), Friends Peer Counselors Organization (FRIENDS), Future Educators Society (FES), Hotel and Restaurant Management Society (HRMS), Junior Marketing Association (JMA), Junior Management Society (JMS), Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), Junior Organization, Senior Organization, and the Young Entrepreneurs Organization (YEO).
The program ended with the newly-inducted SEC President Michelle Lau delivering her inaugural speech. She promised to serve as the voice of the student body at FBAS and to uphold the vision-mission of the college, which is "Education for Excellence". She also reminded her fellow CKSians of the virtues they should uphold, and to strive in preserving Filipino-Chinese cultural values, as well as to cement the position of CKSC-FBAS as the premier Chinese Filipino school in the Philippines.
The FBAS Dean of Student Affairs and concurrent SEC adviser Dr. Rolance Chua, School of Business and Accountancy Dean Maribel Chan, School of Information Technology Education Dean Clyde Ben Tan, BS Hotel and Restaurant Management Program Coordinator Glenda Cura, BS Accountancy and BS Accounting Technology Program Coordinator Connie Tan, organization advisers, other faculty members and staff, and college students witnessed the passing of the torch to the new set of officers.
