This is a story of three alumni who made waves in different fields of endeavors.
Franchesca D. Choi of high school batch 2008 topped the Pharmacy Licensure Examination conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission last June 2013. Fran, as she is fondly called, graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of the Philippines-Manila as Class Salutatorian and with the honor of Cum Laude. During high school, she was a winner of many awards while representing the school to numerous inter-scholastic competitions and she also graduated 2nd Honorable Mention in her Chinese class.
Jerome Edward D. Tan, who graduated from the Faculty of Business, Arts, and Sciences with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration last March 2012, emerged first runner-up in the first-ever search for Mr. Chinatown Philippines held at Resorts World Manila on June 29. Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines is a celebration of Chinese-Filipino beauty in modern times, amid territorial dispute between the Philippines and China. For his feat, Jerome received cash prize of three hundred thousand pesos and a trip to Misibis Bay. He was received contract as artist and model for Star Magic and Bench, respectively.
Lim Eng Beng from High School Batch 31 gets to be inducted into the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Hall of Fame when the league opens its 2013-2014 season next month. Also known to many aspiring players as Coach Beng, he played in Asia's only professional hoops league from 1975 to 1986. He was the stalwart of U/Tex Wranglers, which he led to two championships and two runner-up finishes. He also made it to the PBA mythical five selection on two occasions. In year 2000, he was named one of the PBA's 25th Anniversary All Time Best. In the early 70s as a college hotshot, he led the De La Salle College Green Archers to numerous titles when the school was still a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Of course, his service to his Alma Mater, Chiang Kai Shek College, cannot be discounted, leading the CKSC Blue Dragons high school team to three consecutive championships in different competitions. He is currently the coach of the FBAS men's basketball team.
