On July 21, 2026, a seminar was held at the Chiang Kai Shek College Auditorium for Grade School and Junior High School students. Ms. Arabella Chong 黃婷娜 of the Senior High School Class of 2021 served as the speaker.

Ms. Ara Chong opened with a powerful message: although the internet is a useful tool, we must know how to stay safe and make wise choices. She discussed how scammers and harmful elements lurk on gaming platforms and social media messaging applications. She also taught students to become “internet detectives,” emphasizing critical thinking and careful observation as key skills for identifying potential scammers and harmful elements. She also gave useful tips for navigating the online space. She encouraged students to refrain from interacting with strangers online and to avoid clicking suspicious links sent by strangers. She also emphasized the importance of keeping personal information private, stating that it should be treated with utmost confidentiality and care.

Lastly, she discussed the nature of cyberbullying and gave examples, such as photoshopping a person’s photo and sharing private photos of others. She encouraged all students to avoid engaging in such behavior and to practice proper internet etiquette centered on respectful interactions with others, seeking consent before posting photos, and practicing safe use of cyberspace.
This seminar reflects Chiang Kai Shek College’s stance in promoting a safe environment, not only on school grounds but also in cyberspace. This seminar also affirms our commitment to developing students who are internet-savvy and capable of using cyberspace properly and safely.

Ara Chong is the Operations Director of The Reformation Club Education and a China Travel Designer at Natu Explorations. With a background in education, wellness, and experiential travel, Ara is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and personal growth. Believing that digital literacy is an essential life skill, Ara is committed to helping young people navigate the online world safely and responsibly. In this session, students will learn how to identify common online scams, build safer digital habits, and remember one important principle: Think before you click.

Her talk was special for two reasons: she was an alumna giving back to her alma mater, talking based on her leadership experience as a student council president during her grade school and high school days at CKSC, and as a university student leader in Ateneo de Manila University.

More so, her talk was able to catch the students’ attention as she related to the generation, being a recent graduate herself and looking at the audience as an elder sister speaking to younger siblings.
