    Crafting Voices, Preserving Local Heritage

The CKS Writers Guild, in partnership with the Tondo Writers Workshop, held its pioneer creative writing workshop at the CKS College Narra Campus.

The workshop provided students and guests with an opportunity to further develop their skills in creative writing through meaningful discussions, guided activities, and constructive feedback. Professional creative writers and keynote speakers, including Dr. Ruth Elynia Mabanglo and Rodolfo “Jun” Sabayton Jr., shared their knowledge and experience with the participants and offered valuable insights that helped them refine their ideas, strengthen their writing, and gain a deeper appreciation of the creative process.

Beyond developing the participants’ writing skills, the project also aims to contribute to the cultural mapping of Tondo’s rich and profound cultural heritage. It seeks to highlight the district’s significant contributions to Philippine arts and literature, including the lives and works of national artists who were born in Tondo.

Through this initiative, the CKS Writers Guild and Tondo Writers Workshop hope to encourage greater appreciation for local culture, history, and creative expression while providing young writers with a meaningful platform to learn, explore, and hone their craft.
