Manila, Philippines - Chiang Kai Shek College (CKSC), in cooperation with world-renowned bookseller Scholastic Publishing, held its Book Fair 2014 from February 10 to 14 at the main campus building.
The CKSC Book Fair is an annual event which aims to develop children's reading and appreciation for literature.
This year's Book Fair featured children's books, story books, classic literature, science and math books, comic books, special interest books, novelty items, young adult books, and educational toys. For the children's book browsing convenience, the organizers purposely used low bookshelves and desks to display the featured books, and each display area was manned by sales staff ready to provide purchase information. Books that target older children, parents, and teachers were placed on higher shelves. Books were categorized according to age group and subject matter. Teachers enjoyed discounts for special teaching materials sold separately.
The goal of CKSC's theme, "Read more books, read good books (“多讀書,讀好書”)," is to support the students' interest in literature and supplement basic reading requirements. Scholastic complements this with their marketing philosophy of providing a safe and competent reading selection that better serve children's education. Together, the school and the publishing company have worked together hosting a number of book promotion activities widely appreciated by teachers and students alike. Campus book promotion activities this year will have achieved rewarding results.
