If there's one phrase that best describes this next hero currently serving the nation in the medical frontline, it would be "a full-blooded CKSian"!

Of course, Roland Emerson Nuevas, R.N. (屠美順) suits the description very well, having started his education at the Wong Chun Seng Memorial Preschool, graduating from grade school in 2001, high school in 2005, and completing the degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2009, all at Chiang Kai Shek College.

After passing the licensure examination for nursing, he immediately practiced his profession and at present, he works as a Hemodialysis nurse at the Pope John Paul II Hospital and Medical Center in Las Pinas City. As a hemodialysis nurse, he handles patients with kidney problems, requiring dialysis.

Just yesterday, Roland had two hemodialysis patients who happens to be Persons Under Investigation (PUI), with xray results showing them to have pneumonia. With due courage and diligence, while taking all precautionary measures and wearing the necessary Personal Protective Equipment, Roland performed his duty as a nurse to the two kidney patients. The said patients were later referred to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) for swabbing.

When we asked Roland for a message to his fellow CKSians, he only said: "Please pray for us to remain healthy, so we can help more people."
