High School Students Score Triple Victories


On January 27, 2010, Aldric Cristoval Reyes, Aibeemae Cua, and Kennard Sychingping, all from IV-5, won First Place in both Individual and Team Categories in the “PSHS Inter-Scholastic Math Competition” sponsored by the Philippine Science High School Math Society and held at the same school.

Other schools who participated in the said contest include: Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City Science High School, St. Jude Catholic School, Xavier School, Grace Christian College, Jubilee Academy, University of Santo Tomas, Gideon Academy, St. Joseph College, Pasig City High School, etc.

The trainer of the students in the contest was Mrs. Armi Mogro.

On January 30, Jasmine Arielle Yap and Rhys Jansen Pavon of IV-5 and Erik Lance Astillero of III-1 won Third Place in “Chematics”, a contest composed of Math, Chemistry, and Physics subjects organized by the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers-Junior Chapter of Luzon and held at the Engineering Theater, Melchor Hall in U.P. Diliman. The trainers of the students were Mr. Frederick Buiza and Mrs. Cynthia Yap.

Among the schools who participated in this contest were: U.P. Integrated High School, Quezon City Science High School, University of Santo Tomas, St. James Academy, St. Mary’s Academy, St. Jude Catholic School, etc.

And on February 2, Aldric Cristoval Reyes of IV-5, Geovin Uy of III-1, Henry Jefferson Morco of II-2, and Bryce Spencer Batula of I-2 participated in the “First Academic Bowl” sponsored by Hope Christian High School and held in their school.
Our high school team won the Second Place in the Team Category. For the Individual Category, Aldric Cristoval Reyes and Henry Jefferson Morco were the top scorers for the fourth year and second year levels, respectively. The trainers of our students were various high school teachers. Other schools which participated in the contest include: St. Jude Catholic School, St. Stephen’s High School, Philippine Academy of Sakya, Grace Christian College, Philippine Cultural College, Philadelphia School, Philippine Institute of Quezon City, Philippine Christian University, Quezon City Christian School, St. Peter The Apostle School, and MGC New Life Christian Academy.
