黃凱琳 以Magna Cum Laude畢業星管理大學

  五年前,經過新加坡政府嚴格甄選,僅九名來自菲國立大學、亞典耀大學、菲律賓科學中學、以及本院共九名學生獲頒「新加坡獎學金」,由新加坡政府全額贊助往返新加坡機票、價值約四百萬披索的四年學費以及生活津貼。

   其中一位即本院黃凱琳(Dyane Blythe Uy)校友。二○○五年整裝負笈新加坡,四年後,即二○○九年,再度以高榮譽Magna Cum Laude畢業「新加坡管理大學(Singapore Management University)」,榮獲會計學士學位(Bachelor of Accountancy),副修財經系。

HS Students Declared Champion in Biosciences Quiz Bee


Henry Jefferson Morco of II-2, Rhys Jansen Pavon of III-1, and Aldric Cristoval Reyes of IV-5 were recently declared Champion in the Biosciences Quiz Bee organized by the U.P. Molecular Biology and BioTechnology Society last February 27, 2010 at U.P. Diliman.

Aside from garnering first place in the team category, Henry Jefferson Morco also highlighted the quiz by obtaining the 1st Highest Scorer while Aldric Cristoval Reyes, the 3rd Highest Scorer.

Second placer went to Manila Science High School while BEREA Arts & Sciences High School got the third placer. Other schools which participated in this event were: Ateneo de Manila High School, Jubilee Christian Academy, Hope Christian High School, School of St. Anthony, etc.

The trainers of these students were Mrs. Cynthia Yap and Mrs. Cristina Monsanto.

Double Victory in HS Science and Math Competitions


Last February 18, Shannon Christa Uy, Richard Milante, and Henry Jefferson Morco of II-2, and Aibeemae Cua and Aldric Cristoval Reyes of IV-5 competed in the Sectoral Division of the 2010 Metrobank-MTAP DepEd Mathemartics Challenge held at the Philippine Institute of Quezon City and emerged double champions in the team categories.

This highly anticipated contest was participated in by a lot of notable schools like Philippine Science High School, Colegio de San Agustin, Xavier School, Grace Christian College, Philippine Cultural College, St. Stephen’s High School, Jubilee Christian Academy, San Beda College Alabang, St. Paul College Pasig, etc. At the end of the contest, second placer for the Second Year level was won by UNO High School while third placer went to Philippine Science High School. For the Fourth Year level, the second place was won by Philippine Science High School and the third place by Ateneo de Manila High School. The trainer of the CKSC students was Mrs. Armi Mogro.

The following day, Aldric Cristoval Reyes and Kennard Sychingping of IV-5 competed in the 16th Inter-High School Physics Quiz sponsored by the College of Sciences of Adamson University and held in the host-school. Our students emerged Champion. Second placer went to Ramon Magsaysay High School while Manila Science High School was the third placer. The trainer of Aldric and Kennard was Mrs. Cynthia Yap.

Lords of Math for 3 HS Students


Aldric Cristoval Reyes and Kennard Sychingping of IV-5 and Henry Jefferson Morco of II-2 were recently declared winners in the team category of the “Lord of the Math” contest held in St. Stephen’s High School last February 20. The Stephenian Math Society sponsored this competition.

Aside from garnering first place in the team category, Aldric Reyes also won first place in the individual category. Just like the mega-hit movie “Lord of the Rings”, Aldric was given a silver ring and was bestowed the title, “Lord of the Math” for the School Year 2009-2010.

St. Jude Catholic School, Philippine Science High School, UNO High School, Makati Science High School, Grace Christian College, Ateneo de Manila University, Gideon Academy, etc. were some of the schools which participated in this contest.
Mr. Frederick Buiza was the trainer of the CKSC students.

Baden-Powell Cup Tourney Champs, Five Years in a Row


 

"High-5 Champions" 7th Baden Powell Cup Basketball Tournament

The Chiang Kai Shek College Blazing Dragons emerged “High-5 Champions” in the 7th Baden Powell Cup Basketball Tournament after sweeping the first two games of their best-of-3 finals with St. Stephen’s High School last February 17, 2010. Capturing its fifth straight championship title, the Blazing Dragons has emerged as the most dominant team in the seven-year old tournament organized by the Filipino-Chinese Scout Club and supported by Hammerhead Jeans and Shirts, and the Rotary Club of Bagumbayan, Manila.

With a close 62-56 win by the Blazing Dragons over the Stephenians in the first game of the championship last February 13, the anticipation for an even more exciting second game brought a larger throng of avid supporters and spectators from both protagonists to the SSHS Basketball Gymnasium that day. Simply said, the venue was filled to the maximum that the SSHS guards had to restrict many other supporters from both teams in entering the gymnasium.
