11 CKSC Students Feted with Youth Excellence in Science (Yes) Awards by the DOST


Eleven (11) CKSC students were recently given Youth Excellence in Science (YES) Awards through gold, silver and bronze medals by the Science Education Institute (SEI) under the Department of Science & Technology (DOST) last October 18 at the PHIVOLCS Auditorium in Diliman, Quezon City.

This is the first time the DOST-SEI has launched the YES Award to further motivate students to strive for excellence in the fields of science and mathematics. Only students who have competed and won in international science and mathematics competition joined by at least four (4) countries are qualified to receive the YES Awards.

2 HS Alumni Graduated with Honors at DLSU


Nathalie Joyce S. Lim and Hazelin C. Ng, both CKSC high school graduates of class 2004 recently graduated with honors from the De La Salle University-Manila during her 150th Commencement Exercises this month held at the PICC.

Nathalie Joyce S. Lim graduated magna cum laude with the degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in Mathematics. She was a consistent awardee of Jose Rizal Certificate which is given by the respective Dean’s Office of the university every year to consistent Dean’s First and Second Honors dean’s lister.

3 Grade Six Students Caps 1st Place in Inter-Science Quiz Bee


Three grade 6 students bagged First Place in the recent Inter-School Science Quiz Bee called “Bright Sparks of the Mind Season 3” sponsored by Emilio Aguinaldo College Science High School last September 7, 2007.

These students are Henry Jefferson C. Morco of 6-A, Winny Clarabelle C. Manlim of 6-F, and Aileen Johanna W. Tan of 6-E. There were 25 teams from different private and public schools that joined in the said competition. Among them are St. Stephen’s High School, St. Francis of Assisi College, Immaculate Conception Academy, Legarda Elementary School, Andres Bonifacio Elementary School, P. Burgos Elementary School, Sta. Ana Elementary School, F.G. Calderon Elementary School, CENTEX, etc. . Aside from being champion, Henry Jefferson got the INDIVIDUAL TOP-SCORER AWARD in the Elimination round.

HS Alumna Jean Pauline S. Tee Lands 10th Place in Med Tech Board


Jean Pauline S. Tee, a CKSC high school graduate of Batch 2003, recently ranked 10th place in the September 2007 Medical Technology Licensure Board Examination.

A consistent honor student, dean’s lister and officer, Jean finished grade school at UNO High School Batch 1999, her high school at CKSC Batch 2003 and her college degree of Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at the University of Santo Tomas Batch 2007, cum laude. She had served as class president and treasurer in various capacities during her studies. At U.S.T., she was a member of the Red Cross Youth Council and Organization of Medical Technology Interns and was the Assistant VP for Membership of the Lingkod E.R. (Emergency Room) Foundation, UST Chapter in School Year 2003-2004.

Jean is the daughter of Mr. Leopoldo and Mrs. Violeta S. Tee.

3 GS Students Score High in 2007 Science International Competitions and Assessments for Schools


Three grade school students recently made an impressive performance in the 2007 Science International Competitions and Assessments for Schools, according to Dr. Peter Knapp, Director of the Educational Assessment in Australia.


These students are Henry Jefferson Morco of 6-A who received a High Distinction certificate, Aileen Johanna W. Tan of 6-E, and Raenelle Ean A. Ngo of 5-C who both received Credit certificates.
