The IB-DP teachers and students took part in the opening of IB DP Fair 2021 last October 24, 2021, organized by Learn with Leaders and the Global CAS Exchange. The IB-DP Fair is a two-weekend immersive program exclusively for students under the IB Curriculum. The conference focused on the core components of IB-DP, which are Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), Extended Essay (EE), and Theory of Knowledge (TOK).
The program was graced by the presence of notable speakers. Vice President Leni Robredo delivered the opening remarks followed by an insightful discourse led by Nigel Gardner, founder of Four Corners Education. Furthermore, a panel discussion led by DP and CAS Coordinators, including Mr. Aldrin Antonio (CKSC IB-DP Coordinator), was conducted to discuss challenges the programme has faced during the pandemic.
After the symposium, a segment that showcases exemplary CAS works of IB-DP students came after. Some of the students who exhibited their works were among our Gr. 12 IB-DP students, namely Alanisse Khoe, Conn David Gumanoy, and Candice Mikhaela Koa. Together with their group mates, they presented their projects entitled ‘Climate Action Now’ and “One for Water.” Lastly, the fair provided mentors for the students to encourage them to create a project proposal. Among the mentors were our DP teachers, Ms. Alex Perez and Mr. Jhon Virgel Elizaga.
