The newly formed Wushu team had its baptism of fire when the group performed during the Asia United Bank Area 12 Appreciation Party held at Gloria Maris Restaurant in Diosdado Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City last June 19. Considering that the team was formed just a week prior to the event, they gave a creditable show.
Last June 21, selected fourth year high school students got to see exhibits about Chinese Guerillas operating in the Philippines during World War II. The exhibits, which were displayed at the ground floor of the FFCCCII building, was organized by Tulay Foundation, Incorporated.
The active boy scouts joined Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim in commemorating the 442nd Araw ng Maynila during a program held at the Bonifacio Shrine near the city hall of Manila.
On the last day of June, the Chinese Dance Troupe, reinforced by members of the Wushu team and the CKSC scout basketball team, gave a spectacular performance, opening the pageant and coronation night of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines 2013 at Resort World in Paranaque. They were also background performers for the candidates when the latter paraded in swimsuit and in active and formal wears.
