Lynette E. Chung, a fourth year student of our high school student was recently judged Champion in the Annual Children’s Art Exhibition On-the-Spot Drawing Contest organized by the Manila Downtown YMCA Club last July 25, 2010 at the YMCA.

Lynette’s art piece is entitled “A Colorful Way of Celebrating Life”. The piece features the famous MassKara Festival of Bacolod City to symbolize the myriad talents and ingenuity of the Filipinos.

本院「火龍童軍籃球隊」(Blazing Dragons Scout Basketball Team)在「遠東大學-東亞電腦學院合辦的籃球邀請賽(FEU-East Asia Computer College Invitational Basketball Tournament)」中奪得亞軍。

是場球賽共有七隊參加，即中正學院、Jesus is Lord Foundation College、Immaculate Conception Cathedral School、Rich Golden Shower Montessori School、St. Andrew Academy of Quezon City、培德中學及St. Joseph College.

　　「美育」是培養完美人性的教育，在提升精神境界，培養道德人格之餘，可進而建立和諧的社會。為此，本院除注重學生的德智體群四育外，對美育也投注不少心力。

　　今年六月開學伊始，本院在美術比賽上又開始驗收豐美的成果。

　 　由「市區青年會」(YMCA)主辦的年度現場繪畫比賽，本院莊仁霓以一幅「彩繪人生」(A Colorful Way of Celebrating Life)為畫題的彩畫，描繪出菲律濱人在「面具節慶(Maskara Festival)」中，表現出多彩多姿的生活，而榮獲中學組冠軍，得到獎金菲幣壹萬元。

　　另外，由「歐洲委員會駐菲代表團 (Delegation of the European Commission)」主辦的「集合藝術﹝Art of Assemblage﹞」，本院代表林逸詩、孫安瑜、洪錦英合力製作的作品名為「團結之舟(Ship of Unity)」)，獲得特別獎(Special Citation Award)。

　　所謂「集合藝術」即「以生活周遭廢棄的物品或殘片拼湊組合成之立體作品藝術」，
共有廿五所公私立學校參加。林逸詩等的作品還在菲文化中心(CCP)主廳展出，作為「地球日」慶祝活動之一。

　　又訊：中學生對美術了得，小學部學生亦不遑多讓，如在「中華民國第四十一屆世界兒童畫展」中，小學組榮獲金牌獎的是王郁崴。又參加「香港國際學生視覺藝術比賽」榮獲優異獎的是黃詩妍。

Catherine D. Tan, a 2010 graduate of our high school department recently won Third Prize in the English Kabataan Essay Category of the prestigious and coveted 2010 Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature Contest organized by the Carlos Palanca Foundation, Inc. The title of her winning essay is “Green At Heart”.
The awarding ceremony will be held on September 1, 2010 at the Rigodon Ballroom of The Peninsula Manila.
