Every month of October, our school celebrates the United Nations Month. This is an opportunity for students and teachers to wear beautiful costumes that represent different countries. It is also the time when students can show their talents and creativity by doing various activities related to the theme of the celebration. It was truly amazing to see the students and teachers come as one as we celebrate in spite of the pandemic we are facing in the present.

This year we celebrate UN Month with the theme "The road to a lasting peace: Leveraging the power of youth for peace and security." As JHS students participated in this year’s celebration, a variety of activities were highlighted. It was prepared by students on 11-15th of October and presented to the class on 18-21st. Grade 7 created a virtual background that was creatively linked to the given theme. Grade 8 developed a slogan that focused on appreciating the heroism of our frontliners in the ongoing struggle against the pandemic. Grade 9 focused on promoting unique products of UN countries through making brochures where the students truly demonstrated their research prowess, resourcefulness and creativity. Grade 10 made a speech expressing the importance of young people in promoting peace and security. It was fun to witness the skill of our students in expressing their different perspectives and attitudes through these activities.

And the final activity prepared by the Araling Panlipunan Learning Area was the virtual gathering of the JHS English Faculty on the 22nd of October. The JHS English Faculty once again demonstrated its unity in solidarity in wearing unique national costumes and participating in the program prepared by the learning area. The TLE learning area was awarded as the "Natatanging Pangkat Sa Pambansang Kasuotan". While Mr. Faisal Alonto for the unique costume for male and Ms. Honey Ramos for the female.

The Araling Panlipunan Learning Area is sincerely grateful for everyone's participation in the successful celebration. Truly the spirit of unity produces victory and peace.

[菲律賓中正學院訊]: 在這個已是全球國際化的社會，孩子們對國界及國籍的界線感模糊，尤其在菲律賓算是蠻國際化的社會裡，很多孩子的父母都各為不同國籍，不同種族，在這樣的環境中，孩子需要習惯去与各種種族及國籍的朋友相處、合作，如果每个孩子從小都能學習對不同文化的尊重，相信這世上大部分的纷争便能停息，基於聯合國日定於每年的10月24日，學校都會趁此機會培养學生對其他文化的認知及敏感度。

培幼園在10月22日星期五這一天，舉行了一場小小的聯合國日線上慶祝活動，許多小朋友們在當天活動中穿著代表不同國家的服裝來參加，有中國，菲律賓，韓國，墨西哥，夏威夷等，看到他們這精心的裝扮，可以感覺到父母對我們活動的支持及用心。節目一開始，先跟小朋友一起唱了一首由各國語言組成的問候歌，讓他們知道雖然用的語言不同，但傳達的意思卻是一樣的，再來就是介紹國家以及代表各國的國旗、服裝和當地美食，大家都聽得津津有味。講解完之後，老師也鼓勵孩子們要保持對事物的熱情及好奇心，這樣才會有求知的精神並且好好學習，因為他們都是國家未來的主人翁，接下來是親子活動時間，父母與孩子一同完成老師指導的勞作，而這個勞作是一幅手牽手的紙娃娃貼在地球上，寓意是希望每個人都能手牽著手、心連著心，讓我們的世界處在和平之中，最後用一首[小小世界]的帶動唱，請小朋友們一起來動一動，活動也就在這一片歡聲笑語中落幕。

The Araling Panlipunan Learning Area of the Grade School English Instruction held its United Nations Day Celebration from October 18 to 22, 2021, with the theme, “The Road to a Lasting Peace: Leveraging the Power of Youth for Peace and Security.”

This celebration highlights the performance of all the students at each grade level with the following objectives: to provide an opportunity to showcase their talents in song interpretation and recitation, and to promote peace through different music as a way of celebrating United Nations Day.

The youngsters in grades one and two demonstrate their talent by reciting "How Peace Begins," a poem written by their teacher, Mrs. Maria Cristina Ramos, about fostering peace. Students in grades three through six were given a song to interpret. Every level had a different song to interpret, such as: It's a Small World, Heal the World, We Are the World, and Yesterday's Dream, to name a few. In addition, a slogan making project for the Grades 6 students to promote peace and unity.

The celebration is designed to provide an opportunity for students of Chiang Kai Shek College Grade School Department to participate in a variety of activities centered on the United Nations Day theme. The purpose of the event is to raise student awareness of the goals of this intergovernmental organization dedicated to the promotion of human rights, social progress, and world peace.

(菲律濱中正學院訊)2021年10月9日及10日兩天，由「菲華文經總會〈文總〉」、「菲華文教中心」主辦, 「菲華培青學會」、「文總教師聯誼會」協辦，「雙十節線上華語歌唱比賽」隆重登場，共有64位華社華語歌唱好手參加。

「雙十節線上華語歌唱比賽」分學生組和成人組。學生組，再依據參賽者的學歷分成4個組別：甲組〈10至12年級學生〉、乙組〈7至9年級學生〉、丙組〈3至 6年級學生〉及丁組〈幼稚園、1至2年級學生〉。成人組，參賽者必需係已高中畢業，年齡在35歲以下的華裔青年。評分標準分別為：音律30%、聲質30%、表情20%與發音20%。
在兩天的賽事中，參賽者分別先後播放先前自行錄製的表演視頻。他們所唱的國語歌曲包括「我的未來不是夢」、「梅花」、「淚海」、「隱形的翅膀」、「明天會更好」、「童話」、「愛你一萬年」、「高山青」、「囚鳥」、「兩隻老虎」、「甜蜜蜜」、「泥娃娃」及「世上只有媽媽好」等。

一如既往，本校參賽學生在眾競爭好手中脫穎而出。6名學生以悅耳的歌聲，情感的投入，博得評審們的青睞，在各組別中得到不同的名次。
