Last September 5, Dr. Dewitt Lim, head of school medical services, invited some of our school doctors, nurses, and dentists to have a talk with the Kindergarten students about health care.
Dr. Mary Ann Kua motivated the kids to focus their minds on a “One Day Routine”. She reminded them to always start the day right by observing proper body hygiene, eating nutritious foods, exercising to become physically fit, drinking water, removing bowel regularly and the like. She even emphasized the importance of having a clean house and surroundings. And by the end of the day, everyone must have a good night rest. She culminated her talk with an interesting game wherein the students participated actively.
Dr. Lim, on the other hand, talked about the danger imposed by diseases like Dengue-fever and Leptospirosis. He also enlightened the kids how to protect themselves from these terrifying ailments. Furthermore, Dr. Arevalo and Ms. Avanceña stressed the importance of healthy living as early as preschool age. The kids truly enjoyed the time spent with the friendly and loving medical personnel. Everyone went home, bringing with them free toothbrushes and a big smile. Indeed, learning is so much fun!
