Montessori Pupils Visit Ark Avilon Zoo

The Chiang Kai Shek College Wong Chun Seng Memorial Preschoolers had an interactive day with friendly animals at Ark Avilon Zoo last August 2, 2013. The place is an indoor interactive zoo that resembles the biblical Noah's Ark.

The pupils were greeted by loud squawks from vibrant Macaw birds perched on branches. They also had a glimpse of some wildlife "ambassadors" like tiger, lion, puma, hyena, and others. The kids got up close and personal with Jenny, the Bornean Orangutan. Hands-on, they took turns feeding rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, and goats at the Farmland Feeding Station. It was, however, the pond that attracted a huge gathering, with the children seeing Koi fishes fidgeting in water. The trip ended as the high-spirited kids boarded the school bus bound back for school, with sweet smiles on their faces.

The small inconvenience pales in comparison to the big significance that this simple act can have. A special bonus from blood donation is that the donor also benefits through the production of new blood cells, while at the same time, receiving a personal health check-up as he learns about his blood type and his current hemoglobin level. And more importantly, he experiences the increased sense of fulfilment and self-worth that comes from having done a good deed. (Read more at http://fbas.cksc.edu.ph/news/268-one-bag-one-life.)
