Students Attend June Events


CKSC students attended different activities and functions on the first month of School Year 2013-2014.

The Chinese Dance Troupe performed their rendition of Water Fair Maiden (水姑娘) during the 80th Anniversary and Induction of Officers of the Philippine Long Se Lee Family Association held at Manila Hotel last June 8.

The newly formed Wushu team had its baptism of fire when the group performed during the Asia United Bank Area 12 Appreciation Party held at Gloria Maris Restaurant in Diosdado Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City last June 19. Considering that the team was formed just a week prior to the event, they gave a creditable show.

Mr. Chinatown Candidates, "Students For A Day" At CKSC


The finalists of the first-ever search for Mr. Chinatown Philippines visited Chiang Kai Shek College, the only Chinese-Filipino school in their itinerary, last June 26 at the homestretch of their series of activities. At CKSC, they took a crash course on basic Mandarin proficiency and Chinese culture under the tutelage of Alice Chang Chi, Luz Rafanan, You Qing Qing, Wang Yong Xin, and Ryan Li Fong.

They also had a video shoot playing basketball at the fabled basketball court of CKSC, home to many tournaments and leagues nationwide.

The event also served as homecoming for four finalists who are alumni of CKSC, namely Bruce Willis Sing, Oliver Chen Chia Hsing, Jerome Edward Tan, and Fredrick Jan Bee Tan.

All roads lead to Resort World on June 30, Sunday with the coronation of winners in both Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines competitions, with ABS-CBN working as official media partner of the pageant.

Freshmen Orientation Held For All Levels


Chiang Kai Shek College conducted orientation programs for its freshmen and transferees on all levels not only to welcome its new students, but also to brief them on school rules, regulations, and policies, and relay information they should know about their new Alma Mater.

CKSC Students Win Medals in International Math Competition


From among the 151 participants all over the Philippines, CKSC Math wizards Clyde Wesley Ang and Andrew Brandon Ong bagged silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the International Mathematics Competition (IMAS) conducted last February 23, 2013 by the Mathematics Trainers Guild, Philippines in all of its training centers nationwide.

Aside from their recent feat in the IMAS, Clyde and Andrew will be representing the Philippines in the forthcoming Bulgaria International Mathematics Competition (BIMC) on June 27 to July 6.

CKSC Students, Alumni Join Various Independence Day Programs


As a show of patriotism and love for our country, CKSC students and alumni joined programs held in celebration of the 115th Philippine Independence Day and 12th Philippine China Friendship Day during the month of June.

CKSC alumni Dorenett Yu, Ann Abigail Garza, and Raenelle Ean Ngo, students Mary Grace Khu, I Trista Veloso, Kristy Ang, and Candy Joy Chua all sang during the Independence Day program organized by the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Incorporated at the Manila Hotel last June 10. Not to be outdone was the CKSC Filipino Folk Dance Troupe which gave their rendition of "Jota Paragua".

CKSian Scouts Care for the Environment


CKS College not only develops its students to be academically excellent, but also nurtures them with the right values for good citizenry. With this in mind, Chiang Kai Shek College high school boy scouts actively participated in the "Linis-Kalikasan 2015" South Manila Bay Shore Clean-Up activity of the Knights of Columbus, Manila Council 1000 held last October 24, 2015 at the Las Pinas-Paranaque Critical Habitat & EcoTourism Area.

CKS Students Get Involved in Community Events


Beyond academic learning, CKS College aims to gear its students toward responsible citizenry and get them involved in solving societal issues.  With this goal in mind, CKS high school students joined Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada, Vice-Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, and city councilors during  the unveiling of the proposed new entrance gate  to Binondo Chinatown last February 15, 2015 at the foot of Jones Bridge near Escolta, Manila. The students were accompanied to the event by Mr. Jelvin Ralph Sy, grade school discipline office head.

The following day, CKS boy scouts attended the program commemorating the 143rd anniversary of the martyrdom of Fathers Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora (Gomburza) on February 17, 2015 at the Gomburza Execution Site in Luneta Park. The scouts were accompanied by Mr. Danilo Supelana, grade school discipline office staff, to the event.
