Swimmers, Scout Basketball Players Shine In Inter-School Tournaments


It's the turn of the swimming and scout basketball teams to shine for the pride and honor of Chiang Kai Shek College.

The CKSC swimming team, with Manila Downtown YMCA swimming pool as their training base on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, competed in the Invitational Inter-School Swim Meet organized by St. Stephen's High School last July 27, 2013. Two of the swimmers made waves on the pool, namely Brandon Willis Sing and Mishka Sy.

CKSC Conducts Fire Drill


The month of July is National Disaster Consciousness Month. Likewise, Department of Education proclamation no. 115-A declares July as School Safety Month. As such, Chiang Kai Shek College kicked off this school year’s school safety and disaster preparedness campaign with the school's fire drill.

Batch 2008 Alumna Wins In WCOPA


Remember how Jed Madela rose to fame? It all started when he emerged grand slam winner in a singing competition held in the United States of America. Well, someone seems to be following his footsteps.

Sherine Ann Koa, an alumna of Chiang Kai Shek College Batch 2008, competed in the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) held on July 12 to 21, 2013 at Hollywood, California, USA. WCOPA is considered the Olympics of performing arts with thousands of contestants coming from more than fifty countries worldwide.

Sherine won the gold medal and overall championship for Opera singing category. She also took the silver medal for Broadway singing category.

Mr. Josiah Go On Future Marketers And Innovation


On July 25, 2013, the Student Executive Council held this year’s Youth Empowerment Seminar at Chiang Kai Shek College’s main auditorium entitled: Marketing Innovation. The speaker was Mr. Josiah Go, one of the country’s most respected marketing gurus. This seminar was hosted by Joanah May P. Calaunan, a 3rd year Management Student.

Mr. Josiah Go emphasized that the three phases of innovation are to discover, to differentiate, and to deliver.“Change the rule or game, don’t be the market reader.” The first phase is to discover, marketers must change to make things more exciting rather than being confined within oneself and be boring. CKSCians Say YES! To Fun And Fashionable Ways To Earn


July 23, 2013 marks the annual Boardwalk Yes! Program entitled "YES to a Fun and Fashionable Way to Earn." More than a hundred CKSCians from different year levels and courses attended. Mrs. Michelle Fuentabella, the Managing Director of Boardwalk talked about personality enhancement and discussed the importance of developing the right attitude. Veterinarian Shares Moments With Kinder Students


Last July 22, the CKSC Wong Chun Seng Memorial Preschool invited a veterinarian to conduct pep talk with the Universal Kindergarten students. This activity was done to impart on students knowledge about animals and to have real life encounter with them.

High School Student Council Holds Annual Convention


The High School Student Council finally had its annual convention for School Year 2013-2014 last July 23 at the Little Theater. Outgoing Chairpersons Lenina Guerra and Kyra Nicole Ang delivered the opening remarks in English and Chinese languages, respectively. Dr. Dory Poa, CKSC President, delivered a challenge to the students emphasizing the values they will learn as officers of the Student Council, which will be their stepping stone for other future endeavors. Reports were made on the financial status of the Student Council and the Student Welfare Committee. The by-laws were amended and of course, the program would not be complete without the casting of ballots to elect the thirty-three new officers of the Student Council.
